Course Description

This module covers an overview of the Equality Act (sec 26) legislation and explains the duties an employer needs to deliver to ensure they meet the legal duty.

It incorporates the planned upcoming legislation changes around preventative steps (due to be introduced in October 24).

Target Student

Delegates who are Company owners, Senior managers, HR managers or who have a responsibility for legal compliance in their organisation.

Pre-requisites

Before starting this course, delegates should be familiar (at a basic level) with the concepts of the discrimination legislation as outlined in the Equality Act 2010.

• How does it manifest itself in the workplace?
• Steps that companies need to take to comply with the law
• What a sexual harassment policy should contain ?
• How to engage your staff on the topic
• Preventative risk assessments processes
• Multi channel reporting systems
• What training to conduct (managers and employees)
• How to deal with complaints from employees
• How to deal with 3rd parties (suppliers, customers, patients etc)
